On the long road from the Northern interior, a woman walks alongside donkeys laden with bags of charcoal, bound for the coastal city of Mole St. Nicolas, Haiti. From there it will travel via ship to larger cities like Port-Au-Prince and Cap Haitien. In Northwest Haiti, charcoal production is making an already dry environment even more desolate.
