When Archbishop Oscar Romero was murdered at the alter in 1980 for his outspoken views in defense of the poor in El Salvador, he became a martyr and hero to those he championed. Wanting to share in the poor's respect and love for Romero, a group from New York holds a Mass at the slain archbishop's tomb under the Cathedral of San Salvador.
